Stanley Anderson

We are so happy to have an update on Mr. Anderson’s case! We are relieved to report that recently a nephew did an internet search on Stanley’s name and saw our obituary, and we were able to release his cremated remains to his youngest sister, who made the trip up to our office immediately. Here is the info we learned today: Born in Montgomery, Alabama, Stanley was nicknamed “Can” short for “Candy Man”. He graduated from Carver Junior High School and went straight to work. In his 20’s, he headed up to Chicago and worked as a butcher at Wexler Meat Company at 37th and Halsted. Stanley was funny- he was the family comedian! He loved to dance and help people. Son of the late William Lubie Anderson and Lessie Ren Andeson (nee May). Brother of Tilda “Puddin” (the late Frank) Middleton, Florene “Sithy” (the late James) Steele, James “Razor” (Betty) Anderson, the late Willie Joe “Mac Frog” (the late Talietha) Anderson, George “Tater” (Lillie) Anderson, Ralph (Shirley) Anderson and Jean “Hen” Anderson. Uncle, cousin, and friend of many. ORIGINAL OBIT: Mr. Stanley Anderson, 68, passed away under the watchful and caring eyes of his nursing home team at Aliya of Glenwood (formerly Aperion Care) on June 15, 2024. When Inclusive Funeral Care brought Stanley into our care this morning, five members of the nursing home staff sat watch over him and waited in the hall while we moved him from his deathbed to our transport cot. They were able to tell us this much: Stanley had been living on the streets and someone cared enough to notice that he had frostbite, which is how he ended up at their nursing home. Once he was healed, his other maladies enabled him to stay on as a permanent client. Stanley made them promise to never cut off his big dreadlocks. Not much else is known about Stanley's journey. The chemicals in his body and brain led to a life that many might not understand. There are some other bits and pieces that we do know, but that is Stanley’s business. Stanley's purpose, we think, was to teach others to demonstrate compassion. As his funeral service provider, we want it to be known that he was here, and that he was a human being. Stanley's body is to be cremated. Final disposition of cremated remains pending. Perhaps someone who knows Stanley will see this obit. Someone loved him at some point.
