Paul Sheedy

Paul Joseph Sheedy, Jr., 62, passed away on March 18th, 2025 doing something he truly he loved - playing a solo practice round of golf on a beautiful Spring day. Growing up in Palatine, Paul forged friendships that followed him through high school at Fremd H.S. (Palatine) and beyond. While he thrived at Millikin University in Decatur, IL and UW-Whitewater, he truly found his place at Drake University, where he joined Pi Kappa Alpha and graduated with B.S. degrees in English and Journalism. Paul’s sharp business acumen and natural ability to connect with people shone through in his notable roles as Vice President of Sales at CCC Information Services and Director at Ernst & Young (EY). While passionate and dedicated to his career, Paul deemed his family his greatest source of fulfillment. He took immense pride in his three children’s academic, athletic and career achievements and counted himself as their ‘lifelong #1 fan’. After long Chicago winters, Paul looked forward to summer days at home with his family and dogs, working in the yard and floating in the backyard pool. And no matter what he was doing and where, there was no one he’d rather have at his side than his wife and best friend, Emilie. Paul embraced his retirement, concluding his 20-year tenure at Ernst & Young in 2023. He loved golfing and trips to see his kids across the country (his daughter Madeline in San Diego, CA and his son Danny in Boulder, CO). He was looking forward to the upcoming wedding of his son, Sam, and fiancée Rachel Broderick in September, and to Danny’s CU graduation in December 2025. Paul is survived by wife Emilie Lindblad Sheedy and their three children; Madeline, Sam, and Danny. He was the cherished son of Mary Lou Sheedy (nee DiVito) and the late Paul Joseph Sheedy, Sr.; and dear brother of Cheryl (Rich) Falbo, Donna (Warren) Denniston, and Michael Sheedy. We will have a memorial service at the United Methodist Church in Palatine on May 10, 11:00 am. Please join us for a celebration of Paul’s wonderful life immediately following.
