Louie Moore-Webb

Louie Moore-Webb died peacefully at home the afternoon of June 13, 2026. Louie was adopted by Darci Moore on May 10th, 2014, from Dog Blessed Bullies in Maple Hill, Kansas. Darci went to “look” at French bulldogs, but this little one was irresistible and followed her around everywhere with those incredible ears! Louie’s kennel name was "Bubba" but Darci decided Louie was a better name as a distinguished French gentleman. On the drive back home to Manhattan, Kansas, they were both scared but knew they would figure it out together. Louie graduated from puppy school and Darci continued to faithfully train Louie to become a very well-behaved dog. He loved to explore Washington Marlatt Park which was close to home and he was successfully trained off leash, which amazed all the neighbors once he moved to the city. In early 2015, Darci started the process of moving back to Chicago. Louie quickly settled into city life and the routine of walks, dog parks, the hustle/bustle, and living in a high-rise apartment. Shortly upon moving to Chicago, Louie met his Dad as Darci got serious with Andrew Webb. Mom said “Love me, love Louie” but of course that was not hard for Andrew to do. The little family was complete! Louie was a people magnet, and he trotted down the street like he owned it. Everyone would give him a smile, and he often got comments about what a beautiful dog he was. He loved to swing by the dentist or the med-spa to see if the treats were out, roll down the hill in the grass at Montgomery Ward Park, go to Erie Cafe’s patio where he got treats, and run in the open area at Jesse White Park on Chicago Ave. Louie expected everyone he met to love him and for the most part, they did. Louie did a great job of keeping tabs on Mom and Dad throughout the day, switching up between his various vantage points in the apartment. If either Mom or Dad were away, he insisted on camping out in his bed by the front door, waiting for the missing parent to get home when all could be right with the world again. At 12 years and 4 months, Louie’s health took a rapid turn for the worse and as crushing as it was, it was time. Louie is survived by his parents, Darci and Andrew Webb; his people-sisters and brother-in-law Julia and Dan Yukilevich and Rachel Webb, who all loved him and stepped in to help care for him. Special friends and care givers Lisa Kritt and Pete Peterson, Lisa Knaggs and John Merlock, Cynthia Smith, and Leslie Emmons .… THANK YOU! Louie was told to give Leslie Hanna a big hug in heaven as she kept him countless times while his parents traveled the world. And to every other friend and family member who loved Louie and Louie loved, thank you. We are truly grief-stricken and know it will be a long time before we feel normal again. There is a hole in our house and in our hearts. We will carry his love with us for the rest of our days. Darci and Andrew Webb June 14, 2026
